The Alberta Music Education Foundation Nominating Committee, consisting of at least one member of the Executive together with such other person(s) as the Executive may determine, is responsible for presenting a slate of Directors to the AMEF Board to ensure the Foundation is governed with vision and excellence. The Board has begun the process of seeking nominations via this notice.
This notice enables members to supply, in writing, the names of eligible members for the Committee to put forth for possible nomination to the Board. Members are advised that nominations may be registered either by mail, or delivered to the AMEF office, in which case the nominations shall be received by the Nominating Committee at least fourteen (14) days prior to the date of the Annual General Meeting provided that:
The Nomination Form details the eligibility requirements the Foundation seeks from individuals interested in serving on the AMEF Board of Directors.
In order to allow the Board the opportunity to review the list of nominees prior to a formal vote at the AGM, it is requested that the Nomination Form be completed in full and submitted to the Foundation Nominating Committee. Applications, complete with professional and volunteer background summary of nominee’s qualifications — should be received at the AMEF Office at least 2 weeks prior to the next AGM. Members are encouraged to submit names well before the indicated deadline.

The governing Board is the legal entity and authority for the Alberta Music Education Foundation. Each Board member is responsible for considering and deciding upon all matters of policy, programs and expenditures. Members of the Board collectively exercise full authority over all aspects of the Society’s operations. Board members are expected to be fully informed on AMEF matters, to be familiar with the bylaws and policies, to contribute to debates on issues, to make judgments on matters as they arise and to accept their portion of the Board’s collective responsibility for Foundation affairs.
